Satisfy your craving for genuine fresh pineapple with this swinging slab of brand new exotica from Polynesia. Don Tiki's new collection of exotic and danceable tiki tunes is brimming with haunting melodies, pulsating Polynesian polyphonics and sultry undulating rhythms.

The Exotic Sounds of Don Tiki kicks off with "Exotica '97" featuring the Kahuna of Exotica himself, Martin Denny, on piano on this update of Mr. Denny's classic. Next is a sensational cover of "An Occasional Man", originally recorded by Judy Holliday, with the sultry yet naive vocal stylings of Don's bassist Hai Jong. "Barbie's Balinese Adventure" blends Javanese gamelan, guiro and Harper's Bizarre harpsichord into a sound reminiscent of '60's caper films. "Maidenhair Fern", a Perry Coma original, pays deep homage to Mr. Denny. Noel Okimoto's mallet work, Jim Howard's breathy flutes and Lopaka Colon's genetically authentic birdcalls (yes...he's Augie's son) serve to bridge time and generations of exotica beautifully. The evocative, come hither vocals are provided by Don Tiki's own Sandy Warner - the enchanting Anita Hall. "Are You Itchy?" showcases the deft Brazilian percussion talents of Carlinhos De Oliveria. If his name sounds familiar, check those old Weather Report albums or your copy of the film Black Orpheus. He was the tambourine playing boy in the film that introduced samba to the world. The album closes with "Forever and Ever" - a never before released original by Martin Denny performed by Mr. Denny himself.

This music will transport you to an island paradise where sensual tropical fantasies still exist - especially after that fourth Singapore Sling. So, lean back, lick your swizzle stick and enjoy the swaying palms and steamy jungles of...The Exotic Sounds of Don Tiki.
