Volume 4: Bachelor Pad Royale (Captiol 35177)

Steamy vintage music for the ultimate bachelor pad experience. Bachelor Pad Royale contains 18 really swank songs including "The Theme From Route 66", Shangri-La", "Night Train", "Street Scene '58", and "Playboy's Theme." Cool, crazy, wild, swinging, jazzy, sexy -- the perfect musical nightcap for private dicks and dames. Moody!

red dressIt was the spring of 1962. Route 66 was on TV. Hugh Hefner's Playboy Manifesto was in full bloom, and the youngest president in American history was plugging a domestic program he called The New Frontier. Soon enough the kids were going to have their riot on Sunset Strip - rock & roll was on the way in. Back near the beginning of the decade, however, the first shot was fired in the generational conflict. Maybe it was when a whole bunch of middle aged hepcats turned on to Matt Helm, dark dickeys and martinis, bought fancy hi-fi's for their boldly-appointed dens of delight and got, so to speak, with it. They found a new frontier, all right, and it was right upstairs, just past the collection of swizzle sticks from the Zam-Zam Room and the Dali etchings. Come on upstairs...
